      At Welcome United Methodist Church
you will find a place... a sanctuary... a home... that you can tell is filled with God's Love!

Our small country church has been nurturing  young and old alike to become disciples of Jesus Christ, spreading his message of love  and caring.

Today was A Christmas Homecoming at Welcome UMC. Thanks to all who attended from members to visitors to everyone. The Fellowship time was wonderful. Thank you to all the people who helped set up and clean up. As we celebrated Joy this Sunday, my prayer is that we always remember where the source of our joy comes from...Thank You, Jesus Christ!!~Pastor Ralph

Christmas Homecoming 2018

So these lap covers and walker bags are only a few of many that 5 of us from Welcome UMC, Kimmels Church and St. John's UCC took to the VA Hospital in Lebanon on Tuesday. We were able to meet and greet many veterans, as well as hand out lap covers and walker bags to many patients. This was a very emotional time for all of us, as we talked with vets in wheelchairs, and those that live at the hospital. We thank those at the VA for their service, the personnel that took us around, and for those that take the time to make these items for our Heros! May we always be able to give to those that gave so much!

Awesome Family Movie Night in the Social Hall !

Mother's Day- Welcome UMC Congregational Dinner 2017 !!

Eleven people gathered for Sunrise Service held atop the hill across the street from the church this morning. It was a beautiful time of gathering to remember what Our Lord Jesus Christ did for us and that He is RISEN, He has Risen indeed!!

Thank You, Lord! And thank you to the Robin from Lake Wynonah and Kevin from Pottsville who came to celebrate with us.

Happy Easter,
Pastor Ralph

The Youth did an outstanding job! Thank you to Jessie and Anna...And Jenny for signing to Jesus Loves Me!!
Pastor Ralph

Our Annual Youth Worship Service was held today! What a joy to see the kids running the service and teaching us all a lesson or two.
As a congregation it was a special day and we are all very grateful to the youth and their helpers.
Following the service we had our monthly Fellowship Luncheon.

Celebrating our 160th Anniversay this month !!

Today marks the beginning of "The Praise Squad"!

Following the loss a couple years ago of our beloved Music Director/Choir Director and Organist, Joan Wagner our choir was disbanded.

It was always the hope of the congregation to get it going again. Now, under the leadership of Anna Kleckner and the encouragement of Pastor Ralph and others,  a "Praise Squad" has been started! It is a joy to those who love to sing and to those who love to hear them sing.

Perhaps in the near future, we will have enough singers to re-form the choir and add a dimension to our service that has been missing. Today's "Praise Squad" is the first step.

Thank you to all who participated today!
For those interested in singing - please come in at 9:15am Sunday mornings for practice.

Trunk-Or-Treat is coming..... Saturday October 22nd. Call Deb at 527-1593 to reserve a space.

Welcome United Methodist Church welcomed our new pastor today!
Pastor Ralph Saunders (Pastor Ralph) began his newest journey in service to the Lord today by leading his first service in his new church home.

He was helped by Esther Jordan in the pulpit, Marie on the organ and a congregation full of enthusiastic and encouraging members.

If you couldn't make it to church this Sunday, next Sunday will be a fellowship lunch and communion with the new pastor and his wife Julie!

Listed below is the announcement from July 05, 2015 ... only a year ago. Pastor Jim Fryer had come out of retirement to offer his service to our congregation. Pastor Jim was well known and loved by all and was beginning an exciting journey with us in 'his own' church!

Sadly for many, his time as our pastor has run it's course and Pastor Jim will continue his delayed retirement. It is with some joy on his part I would imagine and his wife Sharon that he can start to enjoy his retirement.

Let us be thankful for the time that Pastor Jim was with us and pray that his gifts that made him a wonderful pastor, friend and mentor will continue to be shared with others.

Today, July 05, 2015 was the day we welcomed our new pastor, Pastor James Fryer!

Pastor Jim or just "Jim" as most of us know him... began his journey with us today as our new pastor.

Pastor Jim is no stranger to Welcome United Methodist Church as he was raised in this church and was sent off into the world to preach at several other churches in God's service - answering the call to be a preacher.

Jim retired last year and has been enjoying himself as a lay member and an important part of our congregation. We are truly fortunate that he could be convinced to serve again in the church that he and his family loves so much.

All of us that know Jim realize that he would do anything for us and we need to help him and offer encouragement as he takes on the role of our shepherd.

May the Lord continue to bless him as well as Welcome United Methodist Church.

Welcome United Methodist Church welcomes Pastor Susan Wollyung as our new pastor!

Our Farewell to Pastor Dorris and Fred Fellowship Lunch

Well, we bid farewell Sunday, Oct 26, 2014 to our beloved Pastor and spouse.

During the special service, Fred and his piano instructor, Dorinne Bilger shared their musical gifts playing some wonderful music! Nathan Zellner also participated on his trumpet... GREAT job!

An exceptional tribute to Pastor Dorris was done by Jessie and the children of Welcome UMC. They all came to the front and each had a sign with Pastor Dorris's initials. Each initial stood for a trait that our pastor had which made her special. It was wonderful and a fitting way for her "flock" to show their appreciation for all she has done for us in her time with us.

After the service we had our fellowship lunch - our last time with Pastor Dorris & Fred.

THANKS to the zany zealousness of a great team of leaders ABUNDANCE ORCHARD VBS 2014 was a most fruitful (and slimy) success!

For a full harvest we may have to wait awhile until the seeds of faith planted in our 30+ young participants grow and come to fruition.

THANK YOU to all parents, friends, leaders, decorations and participants of all ages who made it all possible!!

With the encouragement of both Welcome United Methodist Church and Faith Church, children, youth and adults sang, acted, ate and crafted their way from Egypt to the Promised Land -- we even had visits from biblical folks like Father Abraham, Esau and a poor mom providing food and shelter to Elijah; plus we experienced the Passover and ate manna in the desert. We also learned about 'gleaning' (yes gleaning not cleaning) fruits and vegetables to feed the hungry in the United States and collected non-perishables for the local food pantry.

And THANK YOU to all who brought in daily offerings in donation boxes dedicated for The Society of Saint Andrew, a faith-based organization committed to 'gleaning' fields and orchards so that hungry people are fed. Thus far $315.85 was raised for their efforts -- monies are still being received, so see Pastor Dorris if you would like to contribute. Every 2 cents given puts one serving of healthy, nourishing food on the plate of a hungry person; that means through VBS 15,792 meals were served! Praise God! Amen!
